The atmosphere of this album is fantastic. Makes you feel like you're knee-deep in the trenches drenched in mud, filth, sweat, and blood. Truly encapsulates the horrors of World War I, and the fact that the lyrics of some of the songs are taken from old war letters really adds to the authenticity.

Reminiscent of ... or almost a tribute to Mercyful Fate and King Diamond, this German outfit is also wearing the typical face paint, with topics such as Occultism, Satanism and Horror, they could be called a black metal outfit by Euronymous' definition, but then it's also offering a non-traditional atmosphere with post-metal or black-n-roll passages. It is one of those albums with so many layers, it necessitated many listens to fully grasp the full offering of this extra long album. sachavonkarl74
